Welcome to GR8 Camp
The Catskills: a rallying point for romance and fable. - Washington Irving
GR8 Camp is yours to discover.
-
The Great Camp tradition was born, in the latter half of the nineteenth century, of a growing collective desire to escape America’s crowded cites for the natural beauty, falling waters, fresh air and tranquility of mountain life. Influenced by the British Arts & Crafts movement and its sister movement, American Craftsman, proponents of Great Camp believed in the spiritual and physical benefits of outdoor recreation and wilderness conservation, focusing on the use of rustic, native materials as well as the skill and knowledge of local craftspeople.

Jessie Lee Walsh (of Circle W) and Jenny Oz LeRoy (of Oz Farm and Tavern on The Green, Maxwell’s Plum) have come together to bring a magical experience to The Catskills. An inspired collaboration rooted in music, food, hospitality, and local history, together they will reawaken the spirit of the Hudson Valley at The Griffin House Tavern, Events Space and Lodge. -
